How we help
The mission of the Delaware Parental Information and Resource Center (DEPIRC) is to advance academic outcomes for students most at-risk of academic failure by empowering parents and educators to become knowledgeable and powerful advocates for school improvement and student success.
Information and Resources
DEPIRC works with schools in their efforts to reach out to diverse communities, increase family-friendliness and expand parental participation in school-based learning activities. DEPIRC offers information through materials and seminars on a wide range of topics to help parents and schools better understand school accountability and best practices involving parental involvement.
Technical Assistance
DEPIRC provides resources and expertise to Title I schools to help them create and implement effective parental involvement policies and school-parent compacts. Support is also provided to help schools and districts maintain compliance with federal parental involvement requirements.
Early Childhood Parent Education
In partnership with the Parents as Teachers program, DEPIRC provides parents of 3-5 year olds with the information and skills they need to prepare their children and themselves for school.
Parent Leadership
Beginning June 2010 we will offer parent leadership training. Please subscribe to the PIC News and Events on the news section of this website to be sure to receive notification and application information.
