About Parental Information and Resource Centers
Parental Information and Resource Centers (PIRCs) are federally funded until 2011 by the U.S. Department of Education under Title V of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).
PIRCs serve parents living in urban and rural areas throughout a state, parents of low-income, minority and limited English proficient children and districts and schools that receive funding under Title 1 of NCLB and would like to strengthen their parental involvement practices and policies.
PIRCs are designed to work hand-in-hand with state and federal programs to provide information and resources about parental involvement and family-community-school connections from early childhood through high school and to help implement successful and effective parental involvement practices, policies and programs that lead to improved student academic achievement. There are 62 PIRCs throughout the United States and Territories.
