House Panel Questions Duncan on ESEA and Budget
Committee Wants More Supports for Students
Lawmakers on the House Education and Labor Committee questioned the Obama administration's education budget priorities as Education Secretary Arne Duncan appeared before the panel, which is beginning the process of reauthorizing No Child Left Behind. Lawmakers sought clarification on the administration's plan to link Title I funding to college and career standards and questioned the small increase in funding for special education. "It should have been billions of dollars, not $250 million," one lawmaker said.
